Do the Next Right Thing

How does life feel right now?

  • Painful?
  • As though you’re rowing against the current?
  • Like you’re giving out more than you’re getting back?
  • Are you longing to feel understood and loved?

I feel you, dear one.  I’ve been there before.  And although you probably don’t want to hear this, I’m here to tell you you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

But I’m also here to say that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel (even if you can’t see it right now).  I’m so close to the edge I can feel the sunlight kissing my skin and I want to bring you with me, because this is how it feels:

  • Painless, free, and easy
  • As though I’m rowing with the current (heck, sometimes I even stop rowing all together and still make progress)
  • Like I’m receiving as much as I’m giving to the world
  • As though I’m wrapped in a cozy blanket of love, and every day I connect deeply with someone who absolutely understands me

So how do you get from where you are to where you want to be?

Just do the next right thing:

  • Buy the book you’ve heard mentioned ten times
  • Sign up with the coach whose name you keep hearing
  • Quit the job you dread going to every day
  • Book the trip you’re longing to take

Reach out for the help you need (but remember: there’s a difference between wanting someone to save you and wanting someone to help you save yourself).

Right now, dear one, ask your deepest self what one thing it needs.  And just do that one thing.

And after that, do the next right thing.  And the next one.  And before you know it, you’ll feel the sunlight at the end of the tunnel kissing your skin.

The tunnel is dark in the middle.  Most people are afraid to pass through  – and that’s why I believe only a few are living their dream lives.  (If you’re feeling afraid, that’s normal; I was scared too.)

But all of us have the power to live our ideal lives if we just look deep enough for it.

Because guess what?  That sunlight at the end of the tunnel is actually within you.  You just have to be willing to pass through your own darkness to find it.

It’s time to be your own hero.  Will you step into the tunnel?
